Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett, Ed McMahon and Beatrice Arthur are among so many who have passed away so far this year. They also left something as a reminder to who they were and how society saw them as people. Although they were Superstars, they still were human beings with real issues. Most of all death was more of a reality that neither their fame nor fortune could prevent.
When I watched the news, report after report came on about the legacy that these people left their viewers and fans around the states as well as around the world. Through their music, television sitcoms and talk shows, we welcomed these people into our everyday life.
But have you ever thought on how someone would remember you?
Are you and I making such an impact in our Christian life for the multitude to see? Are we taking care of the widows? Are we counting it all joy when we are tested and tried? Can someone remember you by the struggles in your life and recall the victory that the Lord gave you in the end.
Well these things were running through my mind and I began to write about all the ways I was able to come in contact with someone who needed something at that point in their life and through the Spirit of God I was able to adhere. I am not tooting my own horn, but I am grateful for the opportunities that the Lord has given me to bring some kind of relief to people who are need.
Most of the time its not about money; but it is the time that can be loaned out to someone, it is an ear to hear someones frustrations; it is a hug for a tragic situation.
So, please as you read the poem below, take time to express your form of love before that special someone or friend goes.
How would you remember me?
By a song that I sang?
Or by a smile that I gave?
By a shoulder to lean on in the time of need?
Or by a hug or a monetary blessing?
However, it may be, how would you remember me?
By a walk along the beach?
Or by the nights that you watched me sleep?
By my laugh or by my walk?
By my scent or by my talk?
Would it be by a favorite tune or by the memories of June?
Would it be by a piece of clothing or by a lost pearl?
Would it be by a child born into the world?
How would you remember me, tell me my sweet?
Would it be by the Spirit of God in me?
Or in a hand shake;
Or in a look as I passed you by?
Would it be by a gentle caress?
Would it be by my cry?
Would it be by a letter or maybe a note that I wrote?
Would it be by the innocence of young love on the boat?
How would you remember me?
By the tone of my voice?
Or by the touch of my hands?
Maybe by the tap of my bare feet?
Or by the way that I stand?
Would it be by a photo taken long ago?
Would it be by the love that I showed?
How would you remember me, by a stone that read my name and birth date?
Or by the cabin along the lake?
How would you remember me?
For as long as the sun will shine and the moon that is ever so bright, I will remember you from every passing day until its night.
I will keep you close in my heart and never forget you tender touch,
I will always remember the way I love you, so very much!!!
